Our Story

Ancient Catholic Press was established in 2026 as the publishing imprint of the Ancient Apostolic Catholic Church (AACC), a UK Charitable Incorporated Organisation with its Primatial See in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

The Press was founded to address a simple but pressing need: the absence of accessible, high-quality theological and liturgical resources for the independent Catholic community. Too often, the riches of the Catholic intellectual tradition have been locked away in specialist academic volumes or out-of-print texts. Ancient Catholic Press exists to change that — to make the treasures of Catholic theology, prayer, and pastoral wisdom available to everyone who seeks them.

Our inaugural title, The Divine Office Explained: A Guide for Newcomers, exemplifies our approach. It is a book that takes a subject often perceived as complex and makes it clear, welcoming, and practical — without sacrificing depth or accuracy.

Ancient Catholic Press is directed by the Most Reverend Archbishop Dr Felix Gibbins OSD/OSB Cam, Archbishop Primate and Presiding Archbishop of the AACC. Archbishop Gibbins holds a Cambridge degree in teaching and education and brings fifteen years of episcopal experience to the work of the Press. He is also Rector of the Seminary of Saint Thomas Aquinas and Prior General of the Order of St David.

Archbishop Gibbins is the author of numerous works including The Little Hours: A Celtic Prayer Book, A Path of Prayer, Living the Rule of St David, The Chaplain in the World, and The Divine Office Explained.
